World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Kellands Gloucester took part in Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning last week. There were some amazing cakes, decent coffee and lots of fun, all to raise money for a fantastic cause.

Kellands Gloucester opened its offices for the Macmillan’s coffee morning between 10am and 2pm on Friday 28 September. Many of our clients turned up as well as local dignitaries and we were delighted by the number of passers-by who popped in for a coffee and cake.

We had an array of different and wonderful cakes alongside a couple of competitions. The first was a raffle – the prizes were a bottle of champagne and a bottle of whisky with the top prize being a lunchtime two course meal at Caffe E Vino in Tewkesbury.

The second was a guess the weight of the cake competition. We used a cake donated by Tilly’s tearooms, with a prize of a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne.

Whilst most cakes were sold, the few remaining cakes were taken to a care home in Northway as they were doing a Macmillan bake sale weekend. They managed to sell all the remaining cakes at the home.

The sum raised by Kellands Gloucester totalled £1250 - an excellent effort for an excellent cause. So hearty congratulations to the members of the Kellands Gloucester team who made it happen, in particular Matt and Gemma.
